Coaches Biography:
Wilson Egidio grew up in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He began his amateur playing career with his hometown club, Villa Nova AC of Brazil's 1st Division. Climbing the ranks at Wila Nova, Wilson moved on to play professional as a member of Santos FC, Pele's former club. Following his time with Santos, Wilson took his professional playing career to New York City, where he joined the American Soccer League as a member of NY United.
Following his playing career, Wilson took to the college ranks as Head Coach of City College of New York leading CCNY to 4 Conference titles, National spotlight, earning himself 6 Coach of the Year Awards and his name in the CCNY Hall of Fame in 1992.
After coaching CCNY, Wilson was recruited to be an Olympic Development Coach, where for 5 years he scouted and developed top American Soccer players.
While an ODP coach Wilson and as a Manhattan Soccer Club and high school coach he distinguished himself as one of the nation's premier youth coaches. Most recently Wilson led his Manhattan SC Phoenix to a Region 1 North Division Championship and the Horace Mann Lions to a NYSAIAA State Championship.
Wilson is both a licensed American and Brazilian Soccer coach earning his US Soccer Federation Coaching "A" License in 1987, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (Premier License) in 2002, State of Rio de Janeiro Soccer Coaching License in 2001, and Brazilian National Soccer Coaching License in 1995.
